How can I access my VPS without a control panel?

You can access it using SSH (Secure Shell) which is a secure way of accessing a remote computer, meaning your VPS. You will need a SSH client which is a program that is used to safely access the VPS vis a terminal. The most popular created was Putty which you can download here and is free:

However, there are others available as listed below:

MobaXterm - we highly recommend this. It has a lot of great features and also allows you to use SFTP (Secured File Transfer Protocol). That mean you can also access the files on your PC, tablet, etc. and upload/download files securely to and from your VPS. It also has a lot of plugins to extend its features even further. There are free and paid versions:
